‘THE EAGLE HUNTRESS’ – AERIAL FILMING IN REMOTE MONGOLIA

Filming THE EAGLE HUNTRESS, a rite-of-passage documentary about a young nomadic Kazakh girl training to become an eagle hunter in a remote area of Mongolia, posed a number of challenges for our cinematographer, Simon Niblett. Nevertheless, he leapt at the opportunity when director, Otto Bell approached Photodrones to take on the project.

Then, he turned his mind to addressing the shoestring budget, a much reduced production team and transporting 700 kgs of equipment to capture the vast snow-capped peaks and soaring eagles that the nomads hunt.

You can see here how Simon overcame the issues in his interview with the Hollywood The Reporter.
